Cape Verde - A truly Emerging Market

The Archipelago of 10 Islands - 300 miles off the coast of North West Africa - was perhaps until recently only known as a fuel stop-over for airlines. Considered as almost a Tax free environment due to its exemption policies it is now emerging from a sleepy ex-colonial backwater existence to a vibrant holiday destination. Cape Verde's charms have brought an influx of visitors throughout 2006 and with an abundance of luxury hotels under construction and shortly to come on stream, the tourism market is set to triple over the next 12 months. The climate is comparable to that of the Caribbean and, being a lot closer - just 5.5 hours away from the UK - makes these subtropical islands easy to access. Direct flights from Europe can now be made from London, Dublin, Milan, Munich, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Madrid and Paris.
